Our Resident Care Suite is a convenient clinic that offers basic medical services to our residents on a daily basis. The staff is comprised of a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse and trained medical assistants who can determine the best course of action and consult the resident’s physician for appropriate follow-up care.

Services include:

• Routine bloodwork, specimens and injections
• Annual flu shot
• Pneumonia shot
• Blood pressure and other vital checks
• Wound care
• Transportation to physician’s offices outside Longwood
• Scheduling pre-operative testing
• Scheduling regular off-site office visits with the primary care physicians and medical specialists who provide care to Longwood members
• On-site physician’s office for selected primary care physicians and other medical specialists

Residents in need of medical attention are encouraged to visit the Resident Care Suite to discuss their symptoms. A community nurse will assist with medication management, follow-up on health care needs, and consult with physicians to promote appropriate referrals to medical specialists and home care agencies.
